Thoughts

I'm sticking to my commitment of writing here at least once a month. Usually I was pretty good about coming up with something to write about. But I disliked the times I had to force something. So why did I write then? And why try now? It seems like a lot of effort for minimal reads. And it is. However, I'm going to share with you why I continue to stick with it. Why I share my thoughts and other things in my life, sometimes so personal that I have to ask myself "Why did I do that?" Well you're about to know.

1) Because I know some people still read it. That's what gives a writer their drive. Knowing that people will read what I wrote. Heck if only one person read this blog, I'd still write it. Which leads to the next one.

2) Because I have the hope that the things I write will inspire, help, and entertain those that read it. Sometimes I write things aimed at specific people with the hopes that they one day may be reading these very words and realize what they mean to me or how I want to help them, or that they are missed. It goes on and on.

3) It's basically a semi personal journal for me. I write things here that I would probably not share in person. But sharing it with hundreds to thousands of people at once is okay...at least that's what I'm saying when I post something super personal. That and I can see how my writing changes throughout the years. I can reminisce on so many great memories. I can recall struggles and learn how I overcame them. Writing is a powerful tool if you can hone it.

4) I started this blog as a gospel blog in the hopes of sharing my Christian faith and experiences with those around me. It was also a way of commitment to remind myself why I chose this path and why I want to share it with others. For those who have faithfully been here since I started this blog way back in 2011, you know it hasn't stayed that course. The reason is is sometimes I have to let what's on my mind loose rather than force something I wouldn't feel satisfied with sharing. So in a way, I still want to use it as a source of the gospel.

5) There are so many people who I haven't seen in so long and I miss dearly. I love when they are active on social media because it allows a window for me that I can see into their world. In a way, this blog is me offering y'all a window to mine. I don't strive for a popular blog, rather all I want is for those I care about to know what's up with me and maybe get inspiration of their own.

6) Lastly, because writing matters. Commitment matters. People matter. This is partially for me. Yet, as Julian Smith used to always say before he quit comedy..."I made this for you."
