A Divine and Human Love

His Desire
By Josh Watkins

From beyond the stars He came,
To rescue His greatest love,
To claim His bride,
To cleanse her with His blood.
There are those who say He never existed,
There are those who say He was a man and nothing more,
There are those who say He died for nothing,
But that just cannot be so.
He existed before the world began,
Gave up the throne and became a man,
Came to save His true love,
Then died for her,
Paid the ultimate price for her,
Poured out all his love on her.
She once full of love cried as her heart broke,
She watched as they showed Him no mercy,
She watched as His body was broken,
She watched as He died alone.
Many thought a man died that day,
And many were correct,
A man did die that day,
But a Savior conquered death,
A King rose to glory,
And she cried tears of joy,
For her Groom lives.
He is preparing her for His glorious return,
For the day He will call her to Him,
Spotless, blameless, and perfect.
His heart will match hers,
And for eternity,

Together they shall be.

This piece is similar to the other Christian pieces in the fact that it tells a story. It tells the story of the Lord's love. The difference here is that it gives the other side of the story.

I wanted it to seem like a foreshadowing of a grand and glorious marriage. The She is supposed to represent the love the Lord has always wanted from all His people and all the people of the earth. His Bride-to-be. I don't know how well this one will come across as I haven't read it in front of anyone before. Be that as it may, I hope y'all enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.
